Some things you should know before you begin:

  • Uniforms are available for purchase through your instructor.  Your purchase includes a white cotton-ploy mid-weight pant, jacket, a white belt, and a school patch that should be sewn onto the jacket.  Talk to your instructor about ordering.

 

  • The instructor should be notified of any medical condition or concerns regarding exercises before the start of class.  The instructors will accommodate students to avoid aggravating the injury or will ask students to sit out of certain exercises.

 

  • Please review the Class Etiquette for acceptable class behaviour followed by all students and instructors.

Early in your training it’s important to assess yourself; what your body is comfortable with and what are its limits.  This is where you will begin the process of getting your body into shape for more advanced techniques. Focus on completing the warm up exercises, stretching, and becoming physically stronger. It takes time for the body to become conditioned (both internally and externally) for good Hapkido techniques. Work hard at improving your fitness and attend class on a regular basis.
